Fire Safety for Your RV

Keep your family safe.

As we enter the summer months in Oregon, many of us are eager to hit the road and explore the great outdoors in our RVs. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or an extended road trip, ensuring your RV is safe from fire hazards is crucial for a fun and worry-free adventure.

Here are essential fire safety tips for your RV:

  • Regular Maintenance: When you schedule your regular maintenance for your RV, include focus on the electrical system, appliance and propane system. Avoid carbon monoxide buildup by ensuring proper ventilation.

  • Cooking & Propane Safety: Never leave your cooking appliances unattended and regularly check for propane leaks.

  • Equip your RV: Installing smoke alarms in key areas of your RV and keeping at least one multi-purpose fire extinguisher readily accessible. Make sure your passengers know how to use it!

  • In Case of Fire: Evacuate the RV immediately  and please do not attempt to extinguish large fires yourself. Call 911 and never re-enter a burning RV for any reason. By following these guidelines, you can significantly reduce the risk of fire and ensure that you and your loved ones stay safe.

At Choices Insurance Agency, your safety is our top priority. If you have any questions about your RV insurance coverage or need additional information on fire safety, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help you stay protected and enjoy a worry-free summer on the road.

Safe travels and happy camping!
